The program aims to house individuals and their families so that tenants and landlords can focus on recovery and sustainability.

The COVID-19 Emergency Rental and Utilities Assistance Program will help eligible families pay their rent and utilities. Let’s pay your rent and up to 12 months of utilities. Here you can apply three types of people application. This includes I am a renter, I am a landlord and I am a community partner. Home 901 application eligibility/Requirements

Who is eligible? – This program is only available to renters living in Shelby County, Tennessee (including Arlington, Bartlett, Collierville, Germantown, Lakeland, Memphis and Millington). To be eligible for the Home 901 application, you must demonstrate all of the following:

  • There was a financial loss to someone in the house due to COVID-19.
  • You are in the past due to your rent or utilities.
  • Your household income is less than 80% of the county’s median income.
  • Applicants are not required to prove citizenship and do not require a Social Security number.

What are the Home Application Requirements

Before applying, you will need to have the requirements and documents.

1. Proof of an unexpected loss or financial hardship after March 2020 (Only ONE document is needed from this list)

  • Unemployment benefit document, any reduction in income due to COVID-19
  • The written letter that you had to take off from work to take care of school-aged children
  • Bank statement showing you make less money as a result of the pandemic
  • Positive Covid test
  • Any other financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic

2. Proof of Income (ONE document from this list. Make sure your document includes the last 30 days!)

  • Pay stubs, employer letter stating salary, W2
  • 2020 tax return or bank statement
  • Social Security checks, unemployment benefits, pension benefits, child support
  • SNAP or WIC Benefits, EBT Card Details
  • Write a letter stating unemployment or not that you have no income!
    Include the signature, date and printed name (must be readable)

3. If you are applying for rental assistance, please bring all of the following along:

  • Document the total amount you owe from your landlord
  • The first page and signature page of your lease
  • the eviction notice, if you have one

4. If you are applying for utility assistance, please bring all of the following along:

  • your utility account number
  • Cut-off notice, if you have one

Home 901 Applications are open, anyone can apply for this round till 15th May. But you do not have to take tension because Home 901 applications are reopened every month. Its applications are accepted in the first half of every month. Then, applications are processed and funds are disbursed in the second half of each month.
